The famous family Korean drama The World of the Married has gained many viewers from all around the world. The rating is always high and the plot story never fails the people to keep binge-watching this Korean drama. The World of the Married Korean drama tells a story about a married couple who seems happy at the beginning. But slowly, one-by-one problems start to arise. Remember, this is a review which means some spoilers are here. Oh, just brief information, you can watch the Korean drama The World of the Married for free in VIU app with English subtitles.
The World of the Married Korean drama sets a place in Gosan city. The wife is a successful associate director of the biggest hospital in Gosan city while her husband is just a snob who is still trying to build his career from the beginning. The husband is just like a parasite who lives only from his wife's money. He is in charge of all of his wife's finance. But being the ungrateful husband he is, he decided to cheat behind her back. The wife knows he is cheating because of a strain of hair she found on the scarf he gave to her after a trip from China.
Not only that, but it also seems that the world goes around against the successful wife in The World of the Married Korean drama. Most of her close friends know that her husband is cheating yet never tells her the truth. They even went on a trip together with them, having fun behind her back. To complete her suffering, her child knows about his father cheating but still, he begged his mom to not divorce him. He is too young to understand how painful it is to see your loved one cheat behind your back.
This drama really plays with the viewers' emotions. I bet everyone who watches The World of the Married Korean drama is angry at the husband and the young girl who in the end becomes the new young wife of him. This film shows us how married life will be if you don't know who you're marrying. It shows the hardships of being parents. Viewers get a glimpse of reality about marriage life that probably a lot of married couples are hiding. I'm sure it happens to a lot of people, just some decided to leave and some decided to hold on and show a happy mask to people around them.
If you are ready to get shaken emotionally while learning the hard truth of most marriage life, The World of the Married is a great Korean drama for you to watch. Just make sure that you know your partner enough. Don't make this Korean drama as an excuse to doubt and start a drama with your partner. Anyway, here are 5 harsh life lesson I get from The World of the Married Korean drama:
1. Husband Cheats
"No, my husband will not do that!" You defend your husband. Good if you trust him. But make sure, not only you trust him, but you know him. Inside and out. Don't close your eyes and pretending to not realize it by blindly defending your husband. If your married life is healthy, he might not cheat. Notice how I said "might". Haha, because nothing is impossible. Man is a visual being. They love beautiful things. That's why if he doesn't value you and your little family enough, he could forget you all and have some fun with pretty girls out there. That's why it is always good to talk and know more about your husband, so they won't be able to fool you. Oh, by the way, women can cheat too, but as I said, I'm telling you what I learned from The World of the Married Korean drama which mostly shows guys who cheat.
2. Sometimes Divorce is Needed
Ouch, that hurts. But it is better to be hurt in the beginning and freed yourself from butthead cheater. Once a cheater will always be a cheater. You should never degrade yourself by staying with a cheater. Yes, your kids will be hurt if you divorce, but hey, your feeling is important too. By the time going, your kid should realize that maybe it is really better for all parties to divorce and move on with everyone's life.
3. Frenemies is real
You know this term, right? They're a friend in front of you but they talk bad about you behind your back. They know someone hurts you purposefully, but they never tell you. Instead, they keep laughing under your misery. This is another kind of dangerous and disgusting human being that can ever exist. How could someone claim that they're our friend but don't tell us when our partner is playing behind us? Let alone go on a trip together with the third party. Oh my goodness, humans, these days are scary.
4. Your child is the weakest victim
They are still young yet they are forced to be matured before they are supposed to be. They see how the two most important people in their life, who are supposed to be their role models fight in front of them. Or maybe behind, but they still can hear and feel it anyway. They hear the people around them say bad things about their parents. Their parents are fighting back and forth to take their children with them. It's a dirty fight and children are never ready for it. It could damage their psychological state if they're not strong enough. Even if they're strong, it could unconsciously affect them.
5. Never start a relationship with a cheater
So someone who is in a relationship approaches you and says he loves you. Should you eat that craps? No. Well, unless you want to live a miserable life. Even if in the end you get to be the official wife of the cheater ex-husband, trust me, you will never be happy. You will feel insecure. Does he cheat behind you? Does he like another woman younger than you? Does he still love his ex-wife? I'm sure no women want to doubt their partner for the rest of her life. You need to have a secure relationship with someone who deserves your love and kindness.
So that are 5 life lessons I get from Korean drama The World of the Married. Hopefully, this drama gets even more love from the viewers all around the world.
Cheers, A.
